The theme of this event is “Alternatives to Academia: career paths for those with high level degrees”. Our speakers are Léa Braschi (CBCL Ltd.), Elizabeth Kennedy (Nova Scotia Environment), and Terra Jamieson (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada). Please read their bios (attached) and respond with any questions you would like us to ask them during the event.

The event will take place at The Nook at 2118 Gottingen St. Doors will open at 7pm and snacks will be provided. The bar will be open but you are responsible for paying for your own drinks. Below is a schedule for the event:

7-7:30 – time for mingling and eating, order a drink at the bar (if desired)
7:30-9 – panel discussion with Elizabeth, Léa, and Terra
9 – 10 – time for more chatting and nibbling after the discussion

The event will run from 7-9, but we have booked the space until 10 so there will be lots of time for casual chatting and networking after the panel discussion.

Please RSVP to mletman@dal.ca if you will be attending this event. We would like to open up attendance to students interested in this topic who are not in the ASPIRE program - PIs, if you have other students who may be interested, please encourage them to email me. Space is limited, so additional guests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. As always, this Women in STEM event is open to all genders.
